Hip to Gable Loft Conversion - Portchester
Our encounter with this lovely couple presented a unique challenge that became our most compelling build study to date. We collaborated to create architectural drawings and bring their vision to life: providing their only daughter with a dedicated space within the confines of their loft.
As we progressed through the drawing stages, unforeseen circumstances took a toll on everyone involved. The loss of one customer left the surviving partner in a state of uncertainty, faced with the decision to either relocate or proceed with their loft conversion project.
Almost at the finish line, we received heartfelt affirmation that we were the right firm for the job. The customer's spouse, who had been quietly observing, recognised our excellence and recommended us for the task. Despite the challenges, the customer chose to follow their hearts and fulfil the original plan. What was initially envisioned as a hipped rear dormer evolved into something more extraordinary during discussions with our expert, Billy.
Billy at BMC proposed building up the gable end, leading to the creation of a gable end structure with a full-width rear dormer, featuring two bedrooms and a spacious, well-lit stairwell. Throughout the construction, both the customer and their daughter were ecstatic with the progress.
The completion of the project brought immense joy to both the customer and our team at BMC. Witnessing the positive impact on someone's life after overcoming a traumatic experience was an indescribable feeling for us.
In memory of our departed customer, we commissioned a local blacksmith to create a bespoke gift for her husband. We designed a one of a kid metal Angel, a heartfelt tribute that Billy wanted to leave the customer. The praise from our team resonates; they consistently lauded the customers as exceptional and spoke highly of their experience with us.
