Q. Can My Loft Space Be Converted?
A. Almost all unused loft spaces can be converted (Traditional cut & pitch roof) would require a min of 2.3m form existing joist to ridge, (Truss roof) would require a min of 2.5m. Alternatively if your current loft space does NOT have the required height then lowering the the ceiling joist below is another option.

A. Normally the new staircase is positioned directly above the existing staircase, alternatively depending on the size of rooms some people are happy to divide the area.
Q. Do We Need Architectural Drawings & Planning Permission ?
A. Drawings are a must and BMC can arrange full drawings and planning permission, if required. However, unlike drawing, planning permission is not usually required. The only times it maybe required is where you extend or alter the roof space and it exceeds specified limits, is based in a conservation area or changes street view. Give us a call and we can chat you through this.
